2025 Estate Chenin Blanc

The 2025 growing season in Washington State proved especially well-suited to the Ancient Lakes of Columbia Valley AVA, where its cooler profile and dramatic desert landscape shaped a vintage defined by balance and precision. A mild winter with minimal cold damage allowed for healthy vine development, while an early, even budbreak led into a smooth spring with little frost pressure. Summer conditions were warm and dry across the state, but in Ancient Lakes—known for its cooler temperatures, persistent winds, and high elevation cliffs—these conditions translated into a longer, more gradual ripening period with reduced risk of heat stress. The region’s naturally low vigor soils and consistent airflow helped maintain very low disease pressure and small, concentrated berries. Late-season warmth, followed by moderating temperatures in September, allowed fruit to achieve full phenolic maturity while preserving the hallmark acidity the AVA is known for. Harvest proceeded in an orderly and measured fashion, with moderate yields and excellent fruit uniformity.
